When I first look at this picture the first thing that I end up seeing is the clump of leaves towards the bottom right of the picture, then once you look up and to the left the begin to separate from each other so you can see each individual leaf. The image is balanced because the leafs on the left are so spread out it makes up and equals the clump of leaves at the bottom right. Yes Eric Carroll did use the rule of thirds, and I think I would hang it my room, or at least a living room.
